Overview

A Workshop on Contemporary Ways of Teaching and Transmitting Buddha's Teachings

In such an unfortunate times of diluted wisdom and providence, when very few have the interest in learning and practicing the deep meanings of the essences of Buddhism, there is an absolute necessity to adopt a new approach for teaching and transmitting Buddhism, that will somehow meets the nature, attitude and desire of the disciples. Based on this assessment, Taiwan International Tibetan Buddhism Study Institute (ITB), with the advices and support of Khyentse Foundation, launched its first ever <<Workshop on Contemporary Ways of Teaching and Transmitting Buddha's Teachings>> in the capital city Taipei, on the 1st March 2021.
In order to facilitate the workshop, we had invited dozens of specialized scholars on the themes of Buddhist marketing in the respective professions. We were lucky enough to be blessed by the presences of the honorable Shartse Khensur Jangchub Choedan, both Mentor of International Gedan Association and Secretary of Gadan Trithog Khang, at the inauguration session of the workshop.

On the first day of the workshop, we had the privilege to be able to host 40 plus attendees of Khenpos, Talks, and Geshes  representatives from every sect of Tibetan Buddhism. 

he workshop was a very important part of the project of the Institute, which was conceived and decided upon during the workshop on <<Methods of Teaching Buddhism>>, which was presided by the honourable Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, on the 13th December 2020. 
This first workshop provided invited three participants from each sect of Tibetan Buddhism, without any charging any fees. We had facilitated the workshop by inviting specialized scholars related to the themes of Buddhist marketing in the respective professions to deliver their lectures and share their experiences. The themes of the workshop were divided into three main areas; 1) Internet usages, 2) Marketing studies,  3) Project management.
Additionally, we had also introduced the participants to various methods of teaching Buddhism. Those methods include;1) The traditional-contemporary methods of teaching Buddhism, 2) Methods of teaching Buddhism by associating to the reality of life, 3) Methods of teaching Buddhism with a holistic understanding of different cultures and different communities.
