Overview

LORD BUDDHA

The Lord Buddha is a Bodhisattva who had transcended the path of a Creator God by his human abilities. His twelve Great Deeds and His proficient means of teaching, skilfully adapting to all the different personalities and mental capacities of each disciple, are the marvellous stories touching everyone's heart. There is no way to put those hundreds of volumes of His teachings here, so this article will be an easy and brief introduction to the Lord Buddha.

The Buddha is a Great Being, who belongs to not only Buddhist communities alone but also to humanity at large. By relentless effort Buddha has conquered every conflicting emotion and reached the most profound qualities of freedom and realisation in the end. All those inner and outer obstacles Buddha faced, during course of his life, have never been able to make his mind give in to the conflicting emotions or saying even a harsh word to someone, not even mention of any sort of slander and vengefulness. All Buddha's deeds were nothing but the true practices based on the combined forces of wisdom and compassion.

Moreover, Buddha is truly an example for all the humanity because He has put the entire ignorance aside and said to the humanity "the final beauty of your basic nature is a form of wisdom and compassion". All His life, the Buddha has practiced mindfulness, piety and tolerance within the framework of the combined forces of wisdom and compassion to avoid negligence and distraction in every step and every second. This Great Being, leaving this world, has left us with the light of wisdom and gift of peace in the whole world through His constant good conduct based on the combined forces of wisdom and compassion. His gratitude to the humanity is larger than what we could repay and this is the true blessing of the Buddha in the eyes of wise people in this world.

Buddha in the eyes of christian

I cannot myself feel that either in the matter of wisdom or in the matter of virtue Christ stands quite as high as some other people known to history - I think I should put Buddha above him in those respects.

If you desire to see the most noble of mankind, look at the king in beggar’s clothing; it is he whose sanctity is great among men.

A Radiant Sun In this world of storm and strife, hatred and violence, the message of the Buddha shines like a radiant sun. Perhaps at no time was that message more needed than in the world of the atomic and hydrogen bombs. Two thousand five hundred years have only added to the vitality and truth of that message. Let us remember that immortal message and try to fashion our thoughts and actions in the light of that teaching. We may face with equanimity even the terrors of the atomic bomb age and help a little in promoting right thinking and right action.

Buddha in the eyes of Intellectuals

The most striking thing about the Buddha is almost a unique combination of a cool scientific head and profound sympathy of a warm and loving heart. The world today turns more and more towards the Buddha, for he alone represents the conscience of humanity.

-Moni Bagche.

Ethical man of genius

Ethical man of genius In this sphere He gave expression to truths of everlasting value and advanced the ethics not of India alone but of humanity. Buddha was one of the greatest ethical men of genius ever bestowed upon the world.
