The Dharma Dissemination Conference

The purpose of the <<Conference on Dissemination of The Dharma>> is to perfect the presentation of Buddha's teachings in general and specifically Tibetan traditions to the people of the world in this difficult era, where people are suffering from their misconceptions and misdeeds. The Conference is a great platform, where hundreds of Khenpos, Talks, and Geshes across from the four sects of Tibetan Buddhism gather together to openly share their respective opinions and advices on how to accomplish the above-mentioned goal.

The purpose of the <<Conference on Dissemination of The Dharma>> is also to collect ideas about preserving, promoting and nurturing the great ideas and teachings of Buddhism in general and Tibetan traditions in particular. The Taiwan International Tibetan Buddhism Study Institute (ITB) organises the conference and it was first started back in 2011. Since then, the Institute has organised the Conference annually and the themes of Conference are, as mentioned above, how to preserve, promote and nurture the great ideas and teachings of Buddhism in general and Tibetan traditions in particular.

Likewise, the discussions also include how should the monastic members take their responsibility of engaging in Dharma activities with an understanding of what values and history come with the holy robe they wear. This is also a platform where we educate our monastic members that if they were not in a position to contribute Dharma activities, at least avoid activities that damage the image of.

This conference has also been a good example of inter-religious dialogue and understanding. In the previous conferences, the spiritual leaders of Tibetan Buddhism mostly joined us alone but we are planning to include figures from other traditions of Buddhist communities as well in our future conferences. This will not only benefit the ongoing discussions of preserving and promoting the dharma, but also a unity among different traditions of Buddhism in the effort of dissemination of the Lord Buddha's teachings. We are both determined and confident to continue holding the Conference every year.
